This past year, I hit the big 6-0! It sounds so old - yet I feel as young as ever- at least in some ways. I see new lines and wrinkles, new inches around my middle, new pounds on the scale and I have lots of new aches and pains in my body.
On the plus side, I'm doing better than probably 60-70% of other boomers my age. I take no medications, I have no major health problems I've taken pretty good care of myself over the past decade, walking daily, eating nutritional foods and taking vitamin supplements. Other things I've added in the past 5 years or so are yoga and tai chi and drinking green smoothies daily.
Still, as I hit 60, it seems like new lines and wrinkles, extra fat around my middle and some extra pounds on the scale have become a weekly occurrence. I feel like I'm sliding backward in my healthy living program. I decided that now is the time to go all out on an anti-aging, self-improvement program.
I joined Team Beach Body to help me find some tools to motivate and educate me. Even the free membership lets you search for workout buddies to help keep you motivated, weekly newsletters, a personal Team Beach Body coach and community message boards.
Other Beach Body programs I'm doing are Shakeology, to help me with weightloss and nutrition, Slim in 6, a great exercise program and the Yoga program.
I invite you along on the antiaging journey. I will write about what I'm doing to help hold off the years, what works and what doesn't work.
We all get older, that's a fact. How well we age though, is about 90% in our own hands, through the lifestyle choices we make every day. What will your choices be?
If you have any skin care or beauty tips you'd like to share, I'd love to hear from you!
